Children’s Advocacy Centers Deliver Justice and Healing

Beaver, Utah-based entrepreneur Mark J. Yardley directs operations at High Country Land Management as owner and president. Among other interests, the firm owns and operates a network of filling stations and convenience stores in and beyond the state, with locations branded as Eagles Landing Scipio Chevron, Eagles Landing Beaver, and High Country Chevron. Mark J. Yardley’s success in business allows him to support a number of local philanthropic efforts, including the Beaver County Children’s Justice Center.

The center works to support the wellbeing of children who are victims of abuse, and to help them strengthen their lives as survivors. The center recently became a satellite member of the National Children’s Alliance, a network focused on amplifying the efforts of similar children’s advocacy organizations throughout the country.

The National Children’s Alliance and the Beaver County Children’s Justice Center recently shared a powerful video called Stand Up Step Forward, which encourages adults to be aware of the numerous challenges faced by the victims of childhood abuse, and to provide resources and support to those whose bravery brings their abusers to justice in court.

The alliance and its member advocacy centers work to hold abusers accountable for their actions, and to speak up on behalf of young survivors in their quest for justice. Additionally, they facilitate the survivors’ access to medical treatment, mental health services, and victim advocacy services.

To date, these children’s advocacy centers have assisted more than a quarter of a million youth.
